How many times have we taken a picture, just to hate it because of how our outward appearance looks? For me, there are too many times to count. I always feel the usual: oh my belly looks big, my arms are chubby, I’m showing too many flaws. Attacking a woman in how she looks seems to be a very easy, common, tactic utilized by Satan, to get women off track and focus on that which doesn’t matter. And you know why he does it? Because it is an attack on God’s image, and if he can effectively get us to attack ourselves, he can put us at odds with God’s masterpiece and image. Do we really want to stand at odds with God about anything? I know I don’t want to do that, but I also know I’m guilty of doing so. As I’m relearning the word and diving back in, I’m trying to learn new ways to keep my mind from being at odds with what the Lord created. Both Romans 12:2 and Philippians 4:8 talk about both the renewing of our minds, and thinking about excellent and praiseworthy things. I am learning that I DAILY have to renew my mind with God's word and his presence, or I will think upon things that are not of or from him. It has taken me some time to differentiate what thoughts are of God, and what are not. Although there are different ways I differentiate between my thoughts, the best way I found, I got from Jenny Joy on Instagram. If you do not know anything about Jenny, she is an ex witch who has been saved and now lives for Jesus. And because Jenny has been on the other side spiritually, she knows very well how to command authority in her own life. I saw a post she made one time that basically said if you cannot discern the voice of God, to bind every demonic spirit from speaking, and command In the Name of Jesus, your thoughts, will, and emotions to be silent and then ask the Holy Spirit, what do you say? This has been a game changer for me! I spent too many days trying to discern the voice of God, when all I had to do was use the authority he gave me to stop all of the noise that was preventing me from hearing him. So, next time you find yourself attacking God's image by attacking your own, take your authority and ensure you are not sabotaging yourself or allowing demonic forces to keep you doing so.
Dear Zion, it is time to grow in your authority and love what God created!
